Skill
Development Presentations
Hitting 101:
Learn the 12 key points to
the swing and how to detect
errors at each of those
positions. The most
frequent swing faults will
be discussed along with the
most effective drills to
correct these common
errors. A focus will be
placed on developing a
balanced swing to create
consistent contact.
Advanced Hitting:
Take your hitters to the next
level with this seminar on
teaching the advanced subtleties
of the swing. Using slow motion
analysis to break down the
swing, players and coaches can
easily understand the essential
postures to create an efficient,
powerful, and consistent swing.
Defensive Fundamentals:
This session will include
information presented in both
lecture and practical format.
The basic defensive fundamentals
needed to be successful in the
infield and outfield will be
outlined and drills will be
provided to develop these
skills. Learn the
fundamental movement skills
required to be a gold glove
fielder as well as the proper
technique to deliver fast,
accurate throws.
Advanced Infield Skills:
Challenge your infielders with
more advanced drills and provide
them with the technical skills
to make more than just the
routine plays. Lightning
fast feet and hand speed will be
emphasized as players and
coaches learn how to expand a
player's range on the dirt.
Advanced Outfield Skills:
Often the "forgotten defenders"
on the diamond, this session
will describe how to empower
your outfielders to take charge
of their skill development.
All outfielders need to receive
the same quality repetitions
that other players get each
practice. To become a
solid defensive outfielder it
takes much more than just
getting a couple buckets of fly
balls each practice.
Expand your drill library and
learn how to break down each
technical skill required to play
in the outfield.
The Lost Art of Developing Catchers:
Receiving, framing, blocking,
throwing, and handling pitchers.
This session will outline all
of the essential components to
developing the backbone to your
defense. Many coaches have
resorted to finding players who
are already proficient behind
the plate, but this seminar will
outline all of the skills
required to be an all-star
backstop and provide a framework
for developing these players on
a year-round basis.
Team Systems - From Baserunning to
Relays:
Solidify your team systems and
create an organizational
structure that will help to
develop these concepts
throughout the season. There is
no question that teams that
operate as a unit are more
likely to be successful and this
session will help take your team
to that level.

Strength & Conditioning
Presentations
Dynamic Warm Ups and
Effective Cool Downs:
Consistent physical
preparation is one key to
consistent on-field
performances and the
prevention of injuries.
During this session we will
discuss the current debate
surrounding static vs.
dynamic warm ups, identify
the key components of
quality warm ups and cool
downs, provide in-depth
knowledge about the desired
outcome of each component,
and provide a framework for
a warm up and cool down
protocol that can be used at
your next practice.
On-Field Agility and
Defensive Footwork:
With an increase in the
opportunities for year-round
training and a greater
emphasis being placed on
off-season skills training,
it is critical that players
still have the opportunity
to develop fundamental
movement skills and
athleticism.
Throughout this presentation
you will learn the
scientific methods for
implementing a speed and
agility program, ways to
create a program with
limited equipment, and how
to teach your players the
proper footwork to improve
their movements on the
field. Coaches and
players will learn the
principles behind developing
a SAFE (Speed-Agility-Footspeed-Efficiency
of Movement) program and
will leave with many drills
to use right away.
Shoulder Pre-Habilitation:
If you can't throw, you
can't play. The
unfortunate truth is that
most players don't do enough
to keep their most valuable
baseball/softball asset
healthy. To have a
lengthy career in this game
(at any level) it is
important to be proactive
about keeping your shoulder,
and entire throwing arm,
healthy. This lecture
will discuss the structure
of the shoulder and why it
is such a unique joint,
identify common reasons for
injury to the throwing arm,
provide an exercise program
to strengthen the throwing
arm, and outline the
importance of proper
exercise and throwing
technique.
Strength & Conditioning for
Baseball/Softball:
Baseball and softball are
unique sports with unique
physical demands. This
presentation will identify
the physical attributes that
are critical for success on
the diamond and provide a
practical framework for
improving each of these
areas. Players and
coaches will learn the
basics of sport-specific
strength and conditioning,
safety measures to avoid
injury, exercises that
should be avoided, the
differences between
on-season and off-season
training, and how to plan a
strength program for an
entire year.
On-Field Strength for Teams:
If your players were
stronger and faster, would
they be better able to
perform skills with speed
and accuracy? Do you
avoid including strength &
conditioning sessions during
the season because you are
worried about overtraining
your athletes? Learn
the principles that can be
used to create efficient and
effective strength &
conditioning sessions that
can be used at the end of
practice or as a separate
team workout. Gain the
confidence to include
on-field strength exercises
that can be performed in a
team atmosphere and watch as
the development of your
players accelerates!
Developing Speed for the
Diamond: From
stealing bases to covering
more ground in the outfield,
this session will provide
the technical background,
teaching progressions, and
drills needed to improve
individual and team speed.
Speed on the diamond is not
just about how fast you can
run in a strait line - it is
about first step quickness,
acceleration, lateral speed,
steal starts, and agility.
Learn how to teach these
components and develop them
over an entire season.
Foundational Strength and
Power at the Plate: Learn
the secrets of developing
big league power at the
plate. From balance to
strength and rotary power,
this session will provide
the knowledge and
understanding of how to
progress athletes through
the different training
components. Learn new
drills and how to implement
each drill on the field,
during indoor practices, or
in the weight room.
Knowledge is power.
The knowledge you gain
during this session is sure
to increase power at the
plate.
