Phase 1 - Foundations
Focus will be
placed on developing consistency
in the preparatory phases of the
swing. This will ensure
that key positions later in the
motion are reached with
efficiency and power.
Video analysis will be used to
maximize efficiency and limit
extra movements. Strength
and conditioning will focus on
creating a strong, stable base
that will enable hitters to get
the barrel to the baseball with
consistency.
►Beginning
early October 2011
►12
weeks of instruction
►Ages
13-18
Phase 2 - Progressions
Focus will be
placed on utilizing consistent
preparation and transferring
that strength into solid
contact. This will ensure
that key positions later in the
motion are reached with
efficiency and power. Slow
motion analysis will be used to
fine tune the latter half of the
swing and expand upon the
foundation built in phase 1.
Strength and conditioning will
focus on building rotary
strength.
►Beginning
early January 2012
►8
weeks of instruction
►Ages
13-18
Phase 3 - Pre-Season Preparation
Focus will be
placed on accelerating athletes
into mid-season from for the
first games of 2009 .
Hitters will face more live
pitching and will work on
transferring the technical
knowledge from Phases 1 & 2 to
drills that simulate live
at-bats. Motion analysis
will continue to play a large
role in helping the athletes
make adjustments in game
situations. The strength
developed in phase 2 will be
transferred into rotary power
resulting in additional bat
speed.
