U13 / U15 / U17
*For players who will play U13, U15, or U17 in 2027
January - February
The focus will be on covering the basics of the various stances, receiving mechanics, and blocking technique. Each session players will work through a consistent warm up specific for catchers, improve their skills with drill work and video analysis, and work on their throwing mechanics. Players will be challenged with various drills that challenge their visual tracking and movement ability. After developing the foundation, catchers will continue to develop more advanced skills in each of the three foundational skills of receiving, blocking, and throwing.
March - April
Session 3 is all about getting prepared for the upcoming season. New skills will be developed, but there will be lots of focus on game situations. Catchers will also work on defending the bunt, pitch calling, and the pitcher-catcher relationship.
