In partnership with Canuck Catching. Learn more about coach Von Hollen and his approach to developing high level catchers HERE
Phase #1:
November - December
From November to December the focus will be on covering the basics of the various stances, receiving mechanics, and blocking technique. Each session players will work through a consistent warm up specific for catchers, improve their skills with drill work and video analysis, and work on their throwing mechanics. Players will be challenged with various drills that challenge their visual tracking and movement ability.
Phase #2:
January - February
After developing the foundation, catchers will continue to develop more advanced skills in each of the three foundational skills of receiving, blocking, and throwing. Catchers will also work on defending the bunt, pitch calling, and the pitcher-catcher relationship.
Phase #3:
March - April
Session 3 is all about getting prepared for the upcoming season. New skills will be developed, but there will be lots of focus on game situations.
Limited spaces available.

Spring Little League Catchers Clinic
April 2025 dates will be announced in January of 2025
This clinic is for Little League catchers of all ability levels who will play Minors or Major in the upcoming season.
Many players have a desire to catch, but have not had the chance to learn the skills required to excel behind the plate. During the season it can be difficult for head coaches to truly develop catchers and games can get frustrating for young catchers who have a passion, but don't have any experience. This clinic will focus on developing the basics of the various stances, receiving mechanics, and blocking technique. Each of the two sessions will be broken down into stations to provide lots of repetitions. Players will be challenged with various drills that challenge their visual tracking and movement ability.
Session Outline:
1. Fitting equipment
2. Dynamic warm up
3. Stances
4. Receiving
5. Blocking
6. Transfer and footwork
This PLAYER CLINIC is paired with our COACHING CLINIC. Coaches who attend the Canuck Catching Coaches Clinic will be leading the drills during this session to help them develop their teaching skills and work on refining their error detection.
