Dynamic Throwing & Pitching Development
Phase #1 for pitchers & position players
November - December
From November to December the focus will be on developing arm strength, arm health, and improving the arm action. Each session players will work through a consistent warm up, improve their arm action with drill work and video analysis, increase arm strength with throwing long toss & weighted balls, and complete a series of arm strengthening exercises for performance and injury prevention. Players will be challenged with movement drills to incorporate their footwork into their throwing mechanics. Pitchers will begin working through pitching drills to develop mechanics, but will not throw any bullpens during this time as it is important for arm health to have some scheduled time off of the mound.
Phase #2 for pitchers & position players
January - February
After developing a consistent arm action and increasing arm strength, the focus for January and February sessions will shift:
Pitchers will work on specific drills for their delivery and pitch repertoire. Pitchers will begin by throwing flatgrounds and will progressively increase their work load (pitch count).
Position players will work on throwing footwork at their position. For example, middle infielders will get their throwing volume while improving the efficiency of their double play footwork.
Limited spaces available.
